Plants in porcelain. Miniatures
For the artist, the plant here is more than a decorative motif or a symbol of nature. It becomes a living trace of memory, a sign of time and a subtle metaphor for how people relate to the world.
In porcelain, fragile flowers and plant structures keep their organic relief, but they also take on a new state, that of frozen time. It is a moment in which life seems to be halted just before it disappears.
“Upside-down tree” is about the felling of forests and the artist's view on protecting nature: a tree from a felled forest, turned upside down, with its roots and twigs. The porcelain twigs carry on the tree's life, a metaphor for the fragility of nature and for eternity.
