Biophilia, or the Circle of Rėda

The porcelain installation is based on the idea of biophilia, which means bringing the natural world into the places where people live. In the installation, the Circle of Rėda symbolises the bond between people and nature, in which everything turns in an endless circle with the natural flow of time: it is born, grows, changes, passes and is born again.

The installation shows the fragility of plants turning into a metaphor for eternity. Real plants soaked in porcelain burn away in the kiln and leave abstract forms behind, like hints of themselves. The artist grew the dried flowers and other plants herself.

The light, airy installation is made of 10 porcelain objects hung from the ceiling, each of a different width and height, from 2.5 to 5 metres. The exhibition also includes a research laboratory that traces the search behind the work.
